Yes.
In order to expedite your claim, we suggest you:
(a) select the repair shop,
(b) leave your automobile there, and
(c) notify your insurance agent or company.
Do not drive a collision damaged vehicle even if your insurer tells you it is okay to do so.
This is due to the loss mitigation portion of your policy, meaning YOU are responsible for any additional damage caused after the accident. Damaged vehicles are NOT meant to be driven. Any number of problems can occur. (Hood flies open, radiator overheats, etc. We have seen it all.)
No.
Ohio law requires only one estimate, and from the shop of YOUR choosing.
Only the “insured” must notify their insurance company, not claimants (you are a claimant if the accident is the other person’s fault and their insurance company is paying for the repair).
You must arrange for payment.
Your insurance policy states the insurance company will pay you less any deductibles or depreciation. We can be of great assistance with this step.
The shop.
That’s why it is important that you select a repair facility that is properly trained and equipped to restore your automobile to its pre-accident condition, and a shop “certified” by your vehicles manufacturer.
You can’t be without car insurance. What most people never stop to think about is the fact that even though they have basic car insurance, they might not be adequately insured for their needs, and this can put you at further risk.
If you’re insured, do you know just what your insurance will cover if an accident happens? Do you know if your insurance covers third-party drivers or any damages that your car might sustain from a natural disaster event? If you don’t know the answer to these questions, then it’s time you call up your insurer and ask.
Here’s how to make sure that you have the right car insurance, and more about what can happen if you don’t.
Did you know that there are different types of car insurance, each applying to a different need of insurance? Most people aren’t generally insured against all damages.
If you’re not sure what kind of insurance you have right now, or you’re about to sign up and don’t know what they company is going to cover if an accident should happen, then it’s time to give your insurance company a call and double check the facts.
Car insurance can vary based on the type you have. Have you double-checked with your insurer the coverage you have?
Speaking to Your Insurer
It is important to know talk to your insurance company and know the coverage of your vehicle, especially because your safety is involved. If they are unable to answer your questions make sure you switch to a company that will.
Again, ask your insurance provider what you’re covered for—ask them to fill in the gaps for you.
Other reasons to change your insurance company include skyrocketing premiums that you can no longer afford, or terrible reviews coming from other customers. A sudden drop in share prices is also generally a bad sign for an insurance company and means that you should think again.
